I'm really not a portrait artist but when I first saw my granddaughter Lucy's pictures taken during her ballet class I knew some day I would give it a try. I held these pictures for over a year trying to get up the nerve to begin. Then about a month before she was to turn 13 out came the pictures again and the rest is history. After struggling with the painting and making changes over & over to get it where I felt it was a likeness of Lucy I had to call it quits. This very special painting was painted not only in oil but on one of my very special linen canvases which measures 24 x 30.
